Weekly downloads for the game were inconsistent, with a high of 26 downloads in mid-August but dropping to just 2 by the last week of September. Active users showed a slight decline from 517 in late June to 489 by the end of September, with a minor peak of 513 users at the end of August.

Monster Hunter Now, also from Niantic, Inc., was launched in mid-September. The game saw an initial download count of 25 in its first week, which decreased to 7 in the following week. Active users increased slightly from 25 to 26 in the first two weeks but dropped to 10 by the end of September.
